Israel's UN Ambassador Gilad Erdan said the condemnations by United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres were "empty words when compared to his actions."
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Foreign Minister Israel Katz both announced Danon’s return to the UN, where he previously served as the country’s ambassador from 2015 to 2020.
Last year’s report listed entities such as the Taliban in Afghanistan and ISIS in Iraq. Hamas is also expected to be included in this year’s list.
When I speak at the UN, I speak to a very hostile and biased organization, a third of which is comprised of Muslim nations which automatically support Hamas.
Herzog's tenure is expected to run out in four months, despite expressing interest in remaining in his position, according to the report.
Such a job will demand a strong, immovable individual who can take on the slings and arrows that will, undoubtedly, continue to come our way.
“The UN cares nothing for Israeli blood. It is a collaborator with the Nazis of our day. Working to ensure Hamas’ survival and even reward them for murder and rape. I have no words,” Erdan stated.
“The Security Council must unequivocally condemn Iran’s aggressive actions and call for Iran and its partners and proxies to cease their attacks,” US Ambassador Robert Wood told the 15-member body.
Erdan called the Council's decision to not condemn Hamas "a stain" that will never be forgotten.
Erdan also claimed that there is no country that seeks to avoid an operation in Rafah more than Israel.
